Common charging port legislation to be completed by the end of 2022
The European Union is working on a regulation that will also affect many technological device users. According to this study, companies producing technological products will now have to produce a common charging port for smartphones, tablets and headphones. The EU has started work to prepare this legislation by the end of 2022.
Technological waste is one of the most important factors for the European Union to take this sanction decision. Today, technological tools are subject to frequent changes. As such, unusable chargers and headphones are, in a way, garbage. In order to prevent this, the EU will share its legislative decision with the technology companies as soon as possible.
The common charging standard will likely be USB-C
The difference in charging ports has actually been one of the issues that many users are uncomfortable with from time to time. In particular, the iPhone’s statement that it would not provide a charger and earphones in the box in smartphone sales drew the reaction of users. So much so that this was the most important factor in the garbage turning of chargers.
Considering all this, the European Union chose the USB-C model for the common charging connection. However, Apple, which first comes to mind when it comes to its own chargers, seems to be quite uncomfortable in this regard.
