Daniel Craig: Emotional farewell to his role as James Bond cinema

He has “no time to die” – but some to say goodbye to his crew …

For 15 years Daniel Craig (53) played the British secret agent James Bond. In this role he fought all the bad guys on Her Majesty’s behalf.

On September 30th, his fifth and final spy film will finally hit cinemas after numerous postponements. In line with this, “Filmthusiast” publishes a clip on Twitter – and it shows how emotionally Craig says goodbye to the Bond crew.

It seems as if he needs to warm up first. Because during the first few sentences he fails to look someone in the eye. The otherwise so cool Craig only directs his gaze to the floor, wrestling with himself and his composure.

▶ ︎ “A lot of people here have worked with me on five films,” Craig begins his short speech. “I know there was a lot of talk, what I think about the films and whatever. But I loved every single second of these films and especially this one because I got up every morning and had the opportunity to work with you guys. And that was one of the greatest honors of my life. “

As James Bond, Daniel Craig usually takes his favorite drink, vodka martini, shaken, not stirred.

But now the superstar himself is very touched and has to shake himself briefly after his speech to suppress the tears that are approaching in his eyes.

He wipes his face, then holds his hands together as if in prayer. A gesture of thanks to everyone who worked on his James Bond films.

Meanwhile, bets are on who will follow in Craig’s damn big agent footsteps.

Tom Hardy (“Venom”), Idris Elba (“The Suicide Squad”), Tom Hiddleston (“Thor”), Luke Evans (“Crisis”), James Norton (“Things Heard & Seen”) and Regé- Jean Page (“Bridgerton”).
