Companies are preparing for a gas stop

Dusseldorf The gas dispute with Russia hits the Block House chain’s steak restaurants most critically. “Without gas, we are not able to keep our kitchens running,” says Stefan von Bülow, CEO of the Block Group, the Handelsblatt. The food is prepared on gas grills at 400 degrees – and the company has not yet found an alternative.

At the latest since Federal Economics Minister Robert Habeck (Greens) announced the early warning level of the so-called gas emergency plan on Wednesday and thus warned the economy of a significant deterioration in the gas supply, many companies have been in turmoil. You ask yourself: how do we keep our operations going when we run out of gas?

Nobody knows yet whether the extreme case will occur. The companies’ planning is made more difficult by the fact that there is no definitive definition of which companies or sectors will be affected first by a possible gas shutdown.
