Commerzbank is now considered set for the Dax ascent

Frankfurt The spurt for Commerzbank paid off. The data provider Refinitiv has taken into account the previously presented, good annual figures from Germany’s second largest private bank in the January ranking of the largest German listed companies. That means: Commerzbank should move up to the Dax for the industrial gases group Linde on February 27th.

It was still unclear last week whether this would work. On January 19, Deutsche Börse announced that Linde would be leaving the Dax on February 27 and that the successor would be announced ten days beforehand. Linde is withdrawing from stock exchange trading in Germany and only wants to be listed on Wall Street in the future.

The Dax loses its most valuable stock exchange member. The company outside the Dax that has the highest market value of freely traded shares in free float will move up. Commerzbank is in the corresponding ranking thanks to the price recovery that has been ongoing since the summer. Nevertheless, their Dax ascent threatened to fail.
