Burda sells Jameda to Docplanner

Cologne, Frankfurt The doctor evaluation portal Jameda, founded in 2007, will have a new owner from next year. The health platform Docplanner is taking over Jameda, which previously belonged to the media company Burda Media, for an undisclosed price.

Docplanner was founded in 2012 by the programmer Mariusz Gralewski with six business partners in Poland. The company develops software solutions and apps for doctors, patients and clinics and has around 1,800 employees in twelve countries in Europe and South America.

“We see the acquisition of Jameda as a unique opportunity to enter one of the largest European markets and to shape health care in Germany,” says founder Gralewski, who is also CEO of Docplanner. The company plans to invest more than 250 million euros in new services and the expansion of Jameda’s presence over the next two to three years. The number of employees from currently around 260 is to grow by “at least 200 new employees”, so the announcement by Docplanner.
