Batman sequel postponed to 2026
We will see Superman again before Batman. Warner Bros. announced that The Batman Part II, the sequel to the 2022 film The Batman, has been postponed from October 2025 to October 2026. So there will be a delay of exactly 1 year.
News of the sequel first emerged in April 2022, and its name and release date were announced almost a year later. The announced date at that time was October 3, 2025. The exact date announced now is October 2, 2026.

Before the Batman sequel, we will see the Superman movie directed by James Gunn. The planned release date for the movie is July 11, 2025. The new Superman movie will be the first movie of the new DC universe.
Not much is known about The Batman Part II, except that Matt Reeves has been working on it for several years and that we will see Barry Keoghan as the Joker, a character who already appeared briefly in the first movie.
We also know that this Batman, revived by Robert Pattinson, will not be the Batman of the DC Universe. Reeves’ films will be part of DC’s Elseworlds, a side story to the main story that allows for such films, and will be set in the same universe as Joker: Folie a Deux.
