ASELSAN raises the bar with Gökdeniz!

The factory acceptance tests within the scope of the MİLGEM-5 Project of the Near Air Defense System Gökdeniz, developed by ASELSAN with a superior performance than the systems in the world, have been completed.

The Gökdeniz System was integrated into the MİLGEM-5 Ship after the factory acceptance tests were completed. In addition to anti-ship missiles, Gökdeniz can effectively perform ship defense against threats such as helicopters, planes, unmanned aerial vehicles and surface vehicles.

The Gökdeniz system stands out with its superior features compared to its competitors in the foreign market where there is intense competition. While the Gökdeniz System attracts great attention from the Naval Forces of different countries abroad, production and acceptance activities for export projects continue intensively.

ATOM 35 mm Particulate Ammunition, which is used by Korkut and Gökdeniz systems, which are in the product family of near-field air defense systems, is fragmented in front of the target, forming a dense cloud of particles thanks to its precise time-programmed fuse.

Thanks to this feature, it enables barreled weapons to show high efficiency against small and fast air targets.

prof. Dr. Görgün: Far superior to the systems in the world

ASELSAN Chairman of the Board and General Manager Prof. Dr. Haluk Görgün noted that the Gökdeniz System was developed to meet the needs of the Naval Forces Command, with ASELSAN’s deep experience and know-how in near-field air defense.

Emphasizing that Gökdeniz is produced entirely with domestic and national solutions, Prof. Dr. Görgün said, “The Gökdeniz System not only eliminated its foreign dependency; It has performed much better than the equivalent foreign systems.”

Pointing out that the close air defense needs of the Turkish Naval Forces Command and the Naval Forces of other friendly and allied countries can be met effectively with this system, Prof. Dr. Görgün said, “The Gökdeniz Near Air Defense System stands out as a point defense system that can destroy anti-ship missiles targeting the ship it is stationed on.

The system, which has a high effective range together with the 35 mm Particulate Ammunition (ATOM) developed by ASELSAN, allows the particle ammunition and classical destruction ammunition to be loaded simultaneously and the desired ammunition to be selected according to the target type.
