As Investments in Blockchain Ventures Decrease, Europe Stands Out

While global investments in blockchain startups declined during the second quarter, more attention began to be paid to startups in Europe.

According to information shared by The Block Research, blockchain startups globally in the first quarter of this year $12.5 billion received funding. However, this number is in the second quarter of the year. $9.8 billion declined.

In contrast, the total amount of investment received by blockchain start-ups in Europe compared to the previous quarter increased by 25%.

Among the investors most interested in European-based blockchain startups are names such as Animoca Brands, Coinbase Ventures, GSR, Polygon Studios and Jump Capital.

The only other region where interest in blockchain startups increased during the quarter 189% growth recorded in Africa. In terms of investment received by startups in Asia and the USA, respectively, 43.4% and 23.8% decrease it happened.
