Frankfurt Savers are drawing hope again, interest rates are rising. This can now be seen on the bond market with a bang: The yield on the important German government bond with a term of ten years is on Friday morning increased to two percent – and thus to the highest level in nine years.

This is the end of the period of negative interest rates. At the beginning of the year, the return was minus 0.18 percent, in August it was just plus 0.8 percent. The main reasons for the massive increase in yields are the high inflation and interest rate hikes by the central banks.
