Apple may bring Apple Pencil support to Vision Pro as a new interaction method
The new rumor is based on a source with knowledge of the matter who did not want to be named. Although the news does not go into much detail, it states that Apple is internally testing a new Apple Pencil with visionOS support. This feature can work for text input and include functions like drawing in apps like Freeform and Pixelmator.
There are also rumors that a new Apple Pencil will be released alongside the refreshed iPad Pro series. However, MacRumors, known for the accuracy of Apple news, states that it has not yet confirmed whether it will support visionOS.
Apple is expected to announce visionOS 2.0 at the WWDC event in June. It may also be possible for Apple to add Apple Vision Pro-Apple Pencil compatibility with an earlier software update such as visionOS 1.2. While visionOS 2 is expected to be announced in June, it is not expected to be released until September at the earliest.
Users are hoping that with visionOS 2.0, Apple will add a feature like desk surface detection so that when a user drags an app window close to the desk surface, the window will sit flat on the surface.
