Turkey’s Superconducting Electron Accelerator: TARLA

TARLA Electron Accelerator (Phase-1) was put into operation with an event held at Ankara University Gölbaşı Campus.

TARLA Electron Accelerator Commissioning Ceremony (Phase-1)at Ankara University Gölbaşı Campus, Minister of Industry and Technology Mehmet Fatih KacırIt was held with the participation of . It was stated that this electron accelerator will pave the way for research in areas such as health, aviation, environment, space, science and engineering.

Speaking at the event, Minister Kacır said, Phase-1 has a 20 meV (em-ivi) beam lineIt was stated that Turkey will be one of the four countries with this technology, with the superconducting electron accelerator produced with domestic equipment and competence.

2.3 billion lira allocation for research infrastructures

Developing the capacity to produce and implement knowledge, high value added product Drawing attention to research and development studies that will support research and services and research infrastructures for innovation activities, Kacır stated that research infrastructures are the driving force for science-based development in many areas. Kacır, “The performance of these national research infrastructures, which were established and continue to be supported with public resources, in terms of information, technology and human resources development in the technology titles that our country needs,Our Research Infrastructures Commission We follow closely in coordination.” he said.

Referring to the infrastructure works carried out, Kacır reminded the supported projects. “We will accelerate our efforts to commercialize the information produced in the coming period. We will continue to make public resources available to the studies carried out within our research infrastructures. since 2017 With the approval of our commission, we transferred a total of 2 billion 284 million lira. An allocation of 926 million lira was made for 2024. One of these research infrastructures is TARLA, which we opened today. “TARLA, to which our state has allocated 35 million euros to date, has brought electron acceleration capability to our country by using superconductor acceleration technology.” said.

FIELDIt will be able to lead to important breakthroughs in subjects such as light-speed electron production.
