Starting in April, Apple plans to launch a new program that will update iPhones in stores before they go on sale. This program will launch in US stores and then expand globally.

According to the statement of Mark Gurman, known for his Apple news, Apple developed a special system. This system allows the iPhone to update its software in the store before it is unboxed. Gurman describes this technology as, “The system uses MagSafe and other wireless technologies to power the iPhone without opening the package, download and install the new software, and then shut down the device.”
This feature can reduce the time users typically spend updating their new devices before transferring their iCloud data. Thanks to the installation services offered in Apple’s stores, the time customers spend in the store can be significantly reduced and the process of transferring old data to the new iPhone can be made more efficient.
For example, with the release of the iPhone 15, users were required to update to iOS 17.0.2 before setting up their new iPhone. If this update was neglected, users would not be able to fully set up their new iPhone and would have to start over.
