Canadian people will present Bayraktar TB2 SİHA to Ukraine!
The war between Ukraine and Russia will enter its fifth month as of next week. In this process, both sides suffered many casualties. But Russia insists on continuing the war, even though supply lines and logistics convoys have been destroyed dozens of times.
Of course, when this is the case, the support from all countries of the world to Ukraine continues to increase. Moreover, it receives direct support not only from states and companies, but also from the public. We saw the biggest example of this in Lithuania.
Bayraktar TB2 survived the S-300 missile!
Speaking to the British press, the Ukrainian UAV pilot explained how Bayraktar TB2 SİHA survived after being hit by the S-300 missile.
The people of Lithuania started a campaign to give a Bayraktar TB2 SİHA to Ukraine 2 months ago and it achieved its goal. Of course, Baykar, who learned the situation, said that they wanted the money collected to be given to the people of Ukraine for humanitarian aid, by donating this aircraft as a gift.
The Ukrainian people experienced a similar event within themselves. The “People’s Banner” campaign, initiated by the famous TV presenter Serhiy Prytula, had a great participation. The aim here was to collect 3 SİHAs by collecting 15 million dollars. However, as in Lithuania, Baykar wanted the money collected here to be used for humanitarian aid, and gave 3 SİHAs as a gift.
Now the Canadian-Ukrainian Community has launched a campaign. 7 million Canadian dollars (5.4 million US dollars) will be collected here. In return, Bayraktar TB2 will be bought and given to Ukraine as a gift. Of course, since the account where the money is collected has just been opened, there is 12 thousand 450 Canadian dollars in it yet. However, it is estimated that the target will be reached in a short time with the support from all over the world.
How many TB2s are there in Ukraine?
It was known that Ukraine bought 12 Bayraktar TB2s from Turkey before the war and ordered 24 more. In fact, not content with this, it was decided to open a factory in Ukraine with the partnership of Baykar and make production there.
However, the latest statement made by Ukraine’s Defense Minister Oleksiy Reznikov revealed some confidential information. According to Reznikov, the number of Bayraktar TB2 purchased by Ukraine has reached 50. This does not include the 4 TB2s that were gifted. However, it has been confirmed that Baykar has allocated a large part of its production line to Ukraine since February.
We know that TB2s are sold for a price of around 5 million Euros / 6 million dollars. In this case, we can say that Ukraine only paid 250+ million Euros for SİHAs. Considering the ground control stations and the exchange rate at that time, an amount over 4.5 billion TL emerges.
