AMD shared new GAAP and non-GAAP data, which includes many statistics such as second-quarter revenue, net income, earnings per share and growth rates. Accordingly, the company managed to increase its revenues by 70 percent year on year. However, this does not seem to satisfy investors.
When we look at the second quarter of last year, AMD announced a revenue of close to 3.9 billion dollars. In the same period of this year, it announced an amount close to 6.6 billion dollars. Its gross earnings increased from $1.8 billion to over $3 billion. However, it should be noted that the gross profit ratio decreased from 48 percent to 46 percent.

When we look at the operating expenses of the company, we see that it increased by 151 percent from 1 billion dollars to 2.5 billion dollars as a result of the investments made. When we look at the net income of the company, that is, the profit in its coffers, we see that the amount that was 710 million dollars last year has decreased to 447 million this year. This means a 37 percent loss of income.
Not only that. Earnings per share also fell from $0.58 to $0.27. that is, stock gains fell by a full 53 percent. Of course, non-GAAP data says the opposite of this table.
