Amazon wants to sell millions of high-speed internet connections via the Kuiper satellite network in the future.

Hamburg Most consumers only know the technology giant Amazon as an online retailer and streaming provider. In the background, however, CEO Andy Jassy is working on opening up a new, extremely lucrative market: the business with Internet and mobile phone connections.

Research by the Handelsblatt gives an insight into the management’s plans and possible strategies for interlinking previous business areas with the telecommunications offering. Recently, there has been growing evidence that Amazon’s premium could be larger than previously known.

At its core is the Kuiper project, in which the group is investing at least ten billion dollars. Kuiper is to form a network of initially 3,236 satellites, through which Amazon intends to sell millions of fast internet connections in the future.
