Almost everywhere more expensive than in Germany

Brussels Company cars are more worthwhile for tax purposes in Germany than in almost any other comparable country in Europe. If the cars can also be used privately, comparatively low taxes are due in Germany. This is especially true when it comes to large, heavy vehicles that are particularly harmful to the environment. In addition, large company cars in Germany also help in other ways to save on taxes.

This is the result of a survey that the environmental organization Transport & Environment (T&E) made available to the Handelsblatt. The association compared the tax regulations of the economically largest EU states and Great Britain and calculated the tax burden for four typical cars.

Governments have five levers to use tax incentives to encourage companies to buy more environmentally friendly vehicles.
