Autoflight, which is working on this new idea in China, broke a record with its flight. The company’s introductory aircraft flew 250.3 kilometers on a single charge in its test flight. This distance is a first in the status of vertical take-off and vertical landing aircraft. Thus, Autoflight broke world records.
The Chinese start-up said that with this success, short and medium-haul passenger transportation is now possible. This issue has gained great importance in Turkey as well. Turkish AirCar company, one of the IT Valley companies, is also working on this issue. The company aims to provide air passenger transportation between the two sides of Istanbul with the principle of autonomous driving.
The company, which wants to relieve the load of both bridges and metro lines between the two sides, is about to complete the test flights of its prototypes. In addition, the company plans to make a flight from GalataPort to Üsküdar on April 23, 2023. With this flight, AirCar will have entered the last corner.
Is air transport really possible?
It’s been a pretty common idea, as we’ve stated around the world. Many companies have developed plans and projects related to the subject. It supports its own domestic companies in Turkey in this regard. The goal is to connect the two sides of Istanbul from the air at first.
