Türk Telekom, as the leader of digital transformation in Turkey, has added a new one to its efforts focusing on innovative technologies. The 3-in-1 50G PON Combo experiment, a first in Europe and carried out in cooperation with ZTE, was announced at the FTTH Conference in Berlin. In this trial, the company managed to reach speeds of up to 50 gigabits per second over a single fiber line.

Mehmet Beytur, Deputy General Manager of Türk Telekom Support Services and Purchasing Management, stated that this success is an indication of their determination to lead Turkey’s digital transformation. This record speed was achieved with the Combo trial, which is defined as 3-in-1 and supports 2.5G, 10G and 50G PON technologies simultaneously.
While the Türk Telekom Innovation and Testing Center in Ankara, where the experiment took place, hosted this success, the trial results were shared at the prestigious FTTH Conference held in Berlin. This technology can provide users with speeds of up to 50 gigabits per second, enabling innovative solutions in areas such as 8K interactive video, 3D cloud design and artificial intelligence applications.
