Dusseldorf A promotion promises more influence and salary – but the leadership role is often a disappointment. This was shown by a survey of 1,500 executives by the online job exchange Stepstone at the end of 2019.
According to this, 16 percent of all supervisors admitted that they did not like their function. One in four admits to having had nightmares since being promoted, 15 percent have sought psychological help, and 27 percent would prefer to reverse the step. The statements come from the time before the pandemic and the challenge of suddenly leading teams virtually, as well as the economic crisis and the Ukraine war.
