XX Network Partners with Worldcoin to Further Improve User Privacy!

More than three million people have already signed up to the Worldcoin network, which involves physical interaction with a piece of hardware known as an ‘Orb’. This sphere scans people’s eyes and produces special “iris codes” derived from the tissue of the iris.
The transmission, storage and use of these iris codes, although not directly tied to a human identity, is still a controversial issue due to the understanding that a company is intercepting the data and potentially misusing it or, in fact, attackers tracking such interactions across the network.
XX Network’s work will include the promotion of cMixx+ to users who authenticate (within “World ID” applications) at the point of registration (the sphere that transmits the iris code) in a way that no one, including Worldcoin, knows when it will happen. When a new user signs up, there is no user verifying or potentially updating any information regarding that registration.
Much of the crypto world was skeptical when Worldcoin announced its original project plans, but it painstakingly tried to detail just how far it would go with privacy to prevent the data they capture from being misused. It’s a natural opportunity for XX Network (which has a pedigree of cryptographers, including founder David Chaum) to lead the charge to further improve user privacy for Worldcoin.
Founded by Sam Almtan (who runs ChatGPT’s OpenAI), the premise of the Worldcoin project comes, perhaps unsurprisingly, from the fact that it envisions a time in the not-too-distant future when we must distinguish ourselves as real human beings. In a world of hyper-intelligent AI and impersonation fraud, this is a significant development. Worldcoin therefore gives individuals the chance to prove their humanity to systems and therefore participate in an open trading and governance ecosystem.
cMixx+, which will be used by Worldcoin in this development, is a decentralized metadata sharding hybrid network designed by David Chaum over several decades and developed, implemented and developed by his team at XX Network from 2016 to the present. XX Network is managed by hundreds of independent node operators across 5 continents and over 150 countries, and also operates an independent Layer1 blockchain with its own governance and native XX Coin.
We have many other projects in development together, including cMixx(+), echoexx (a fully private direct messaging and payment platform using Ethereum identities), Project Tourbillon (a privacy-centric CBDC pilot for the Swiss National Bank), Better Than Money (David ). The XX Foundation has its own development grants with further announcements expected, and most of the awarded projects are expected to involve cMixx(+). Worldcoin was founded in 2019 and initially raised $125.5 million from Andreessen Horowitz, Variant, Khosla Ventures, Coinbase and Tiger Global.
XX Network went live to the mainnet in November 2021 after many years in secret development and did not receive VC investment in order to have more control over its direction. Instead, it raised seed capital from Roger Ver and Chris Larsen and conducted a series of cryptocurrency sales between 2020-2021.
