Effective June 1, 2023, William N. Anderson will become the new CEO of Bayer AG, the company announced in an ad hoc release. Before taking over as CEO, he will join the Board of Management of Bayer AG on April 1, 2023. According to the company, the new appointment is the result of a comprehensive selection process that has been running since mid-2022.
Anderson studied chemical engineering and most recently worked as CEO of Roche’s pharmaceuticals division. He succeeds current CEO Werner Baumann, whose contract was originally scheduled to run until April 30, 2024. Baumann will work closely with Anderson to ensure a smooth transition process, the release said.
