Nobody feels responsible for the Nord Stream 2 Baltic Sea pipeline anymore.

Berlin After the sanctions were imposed on Russia and the temporary stop, nobody felt responsible for Nord Stream 2 anymore. There are 330 million cubic meters of natural gas in the Baltic Sea pipeline, which are under a pressure of 120 bar. “The pipeline is a complex construction that cannot be left to its own devices,” warns an insider. But that is exactly what is happening.

The pipeline, with a length of 1,220 kilometers, consists of two parallel strands that are completely filled with natural gas. The gas pipeline is sealed with heavy valves at the starting point in Russia and at the ending point in Lubmin in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. Nord Stream 2 consists of around 200,000 steel pipes, each twelve meters long and weighing 24 tons.
