Apple Watch may gain widget support
Widgets introduced to iPhones with iOS 14 will now be available to Apple Watch users as well. The new update planned for watchOS will include widgets in the design. These items will become part of the Glances system.
The new interface, detailed by Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, was introduced with watchOS 4 in 2017. Siri watch face will remind. But it will act as the overlay for the watch face that the user chooses. It will also allow users to navigate through the widgets they have placed on top of each other.
The report also showed that Apple is working on the Watch physical button functionality. Accordingly, if the button is pressed, instead of taking it to the home screen, it will direct to the widgets where the widgets will be located.
Gurman said that the redesign of WatchOS may be upsetting for some users and exciting for others. However, Apple will make the new interface available on demand at the first stage.
It was also said that Apple will include a microLED display panel in the new Watch Ultra model. The new update will start on June 5th WWDC 2023 may appear at the event. However, it should be noted that there is no official statement from Apple.
