Dusseldorf Many homeowners are currently considering replacing their gas or oil heating system. Energy costs have risen sharply as a result of the conflict with Russia. In addition, it cannot be ruled out that Russia will turn off the gas supply in winter. The Russian gas giant Gazprom is currently only delivering 20 percent of the possible capacity through the Nord Stream 1 pipeline.
Alternative heating methods such as heat pumps or heating with wood are therefore gaining in popularity. According to the German Energy Wood and Pellet Association, there were 570,000 pellet heating systems throughout Germany in 2021 – and the trend is rising.
