Dusseldorf Intelligent electricity meters are becoming mandatory. The Bundestag decided at the end of last week. This is good news for digital start-ups such as Octopus Energy, Tibber or Rabot Charge. They have been offering the appropriate flexible tariffs for some time. From now on, these could really be worthwhile for consumers.

“If there is a surplus of electricity, you have to make the low prices available to customers,” says Philipp Schröder, founder and CEO of the start-up 1Komma5Grad. In addition to PV systems, heat pumps and storage systems, the green tech company also sells energy management software that homeowners can use to manage their consumption in real time, depending on the electricity price.
