Voyager announced in a blog post this week that it has extended its timeline for bidding and restructuring processes.

Voyager Postpones Bidding Deadline to September 6

Initially, the bids were scheduled to be submitted today and the sales hearing to be held on September 8. Now, the firm has announced that it has moved the bid deadline to noon on September 6, and that the sales hearing will be held on September 29.

“Since the bid deadline for Voyager has been set, existing and potential new bidders have requested additional time to obtain information and submit their bids,” the company said in a statement.

Offers can take many forms, from simply offering to purchase the firm’s assets, to suggesting a restructuring plan, or even offering assistance in restructuring.

When all offers are received, cryptocurrency Advisers at company Voyager will examine which offers provide the most benefits for customers and creditors, but offers can vary significantly from dollar amounts to levels of assistance in restructuring.

The bidders are kept confidential throughout the process, and the approved parties sign confidentiality agreements.

But FTX and its sister company, Alameda, sparked excitement by making their offer public two weeks after Voyager declared bankruptcy.

Although the bidding procedures were not yet completed, this move put the two companies at odds with the company’s lawyer, who said that FTX had submitted a low bid and publicly disclosed it, and did not respect the bidding process.

The company filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in July after shutting down operations on its platform. The company’s lawyer said that as of August 4, 22 parties had meaningful talks to submit bids and that more than one bid had been received.
