A new update has been released for Counter-Strike 2 (CS2). This update, which players have been eagerly awaiting, brings many important changes to the game. Here are all the innovations:
Gameplay:
- The height of the pillar of flame for both Molotov and Burning Bomb now decreases over time.
- The terrorist team reward for planting but defusing the bomb was reduced from $800 to $600 to reduce the impact of the first round on subsequent rounds.
- The price of M4A4 was reduced from 3 thousand 100 dollars to 3 thousand dollars.
- Made minor adjustments to first-person camera movement.
- Explicitly added “switchhandsleft” and “switchhandsright” console commands.
- Deathmatch bonus weapons are now the same for all players regardless of loadout.
Burning Bomb
- Explosion and flame visual processing has been adjusted.
- The time has been shortened.
- Reduced the area covered by the spreading flames.
- The price has been reduced from $600 to $500.
Hire
- When players open a Kilowatt safe with a key, they will have the option to rent the entire Kilowatt collection (i.e., every weapon in the safe, excluding the rare special item) for a week instead of purchasing an item from the collection.
- Rented weapons will be replaced with the stock version of the weapon when the rental period ends.
- Rented weapons cannot be modified (e.g. via stickers or nametags), traded, or sold on the Steam Community Market.
HUD
- Fixed a bug where MVP player name was displayed incorrectly during bot takeover.
- Fixed a bug where the Refund All button in the Purchase Menu would only refund a single flashbang grenade.
- Fixed a bug where the end-of-match ESC menu scoreboard did not match the TAB scoreboard.
- Fixed a bug where the Loss Bonus leaderboard tooltip would remain stuck on the screen after the leaderboard was closed.
- Blocking foreign Steam avatars will now block other user-generated content such as nametags and sticker embeds.
Chickens
- Chickens have several new animations.
- Chickens can now climb hills.
- Chickens can now turn right while walking.
User interface
- Various performance improvements to the warehouse main menu and item inspection background scene.
Promotions
- The demo playback timeline now shows indicators for kills and death events.
- Demo playback can be switched to “highlight mode” which will only show kills and fatalities for the active player.
- Various minor demo playback UI changes.
- Fixed a demo playback crash.
Maps
Vertigo:
- Added a passage to bombsite A that connects to the back of bombsite A.
- The connection between the back of A and the elevators has been removed.
- The passage between the elevators and the pier has been opened.
- The size of bombsite A has been slightly changed.
- Spawn timings have been slightly changed.
- Changed Wingman layout to include A bombsite changes.
Baggage:
- The movement glitch in the lower conveyor has been resolved.
- Lowered the height of the central conveyor tray to help open up the sniper view.
Office:
- Fixed a situation where a player could shoot through multiple walls.
Mirage:
- Fixed bad collision on certain items.
- Fixed some sticky collisions around windows in the palace.
