Two men in combat uniform hang the Russian flags on the front door of the Kreminna City Hall building, another has his machine gun slung over his shoulder and is speaking to the camera. The message sent by the Luhansk People’s Militia via Telegram: The city is “completely” under the control of the “People’s Republic” units.
Kreminna was attacked from all sides, says the governor of the Luhansk region, Serhiy Gaidai. The Ukrainian forces would have had to withdraw and would move into new positions.
The small town with originally 18,000 inhabitants is located in the Luhansk region in eastern Ukraine. In other words, where Russia launched a major offensive a few days ago to take over the entire Donbass.
A large part of Luhansk is now under Russian control, Gaidai said. on Telegram on Wednesday evening. Russian units would control 80 percent of the area.
