What needs to be checked & how much does the check cost?

Frankfurt Germany has filled up gas storage facilities to prevent a supply shortage in winter. Now each and every individual should make a further contribution. That is the idea behind two new energy saving regulations that the federal cabinet passed in August.

The first regulation came into force at the beginning of September and includes short-term measures such as a ban on heating private pools with gas. The second regulation has been in effect since the beginning of October. Its title: Ordinance for securing the energy supply on medium-term effective measures (EnSimiMaV). The most important point is the obligation to check the heating system – the so-called heating check.

All owners of buildings with gas heating now have two years to have their heating system checked. If the check reveals a need for optimization, owners must have the necessary work done by September 15, 2024 at the latest. According to the regulation, that makes a total of 10.4 million heating systems to be checked.
