What is left after the crypto crash

Dusseldorf Crypto investors again had to cope with heavy losses at the beginning of the week. The oldest and most important digital currency, Bitcoin, fell at times by more than ten percent below $21,000. The second largest cryptocurrency, Ethereum, also fell to its lowest level since January 2021.

After the previous crash at the beginning of May, it initially seemed as if the market had calmed down again and exchange rates had leveled off – albeit far from their highs.

The renewed sell-off strengthens those analysts who warn of a prolonged crypto winter. More pessimistic market observers are even talking about the end of the crypto era. But can something that has so many followers ever disappear altogether?

To answer this question, host Lena Jesberg speaks to the Handelsblatt tech and financial expert Felix Holtermann in today’s episode. He reveals which achievements of the crypto revolution will remain in the end.
