Riga Russian President Vladimir Putin has convened the National Security Council for a meeting on Friday. The meeting takes place against the background of alleged attacks by the Ukrainian side on Russian territory in the past few days.
The Kremlin accused Ukraine of invading Russia’s Bryansk region across the border on Thursday. The domestic secret service FSB had spoken of heavy fighting with “Ukrainian nationalists” in the region. According to the region’s governor, Alexander Bogomaz, “several dozen” Ukrainian saboteurs entered the villages of Lybenkhane and Sushany.
Bogomaz wrote on Telegram on Thursday that saboteurs fired at a moving car, killing a resident and injuring a child. He later wrote that a house in the village of Sushany caught fire as a result of a drone crash and reported a second alleged fatality.
