What do Elon Musk and Richard David Precht have in common? Not the hairdo. The question of whether they both smoke the same thing would go too deep into privacy. Neither is the job: Musk is a brilliant entrepreneur and manipulator of the Bitcoin market, while Precht is a television philosopher and author of a bestseller entitled “Who am I…?” and so on.
The two have in common that they are popular, have no idea about the Ukraine war and talk nonsense about it.
For example, Precht suggested giving Russia a guarantee that Ukraine would not be admitted to NATO in order to end the war. Only someone who has consistently ignored the course of events and, above all, the motivation on the Russian side can come up with the idea.
Musk, in turn, affably said the people in the territories claimed by Russia should decide for themselves what they want. This is sheer ignorance given the fake referendums that just took place there.

The fact that Musk sometimes doesn’t think twice about what he says – unless he wants to blow up the Bitcoin price – is not new. But his latest statement puts him close to forces flirting with Russia’s leader Vladimir Putin and having a troubled relationship with democracy.
What does “intellectual” mean?
And now back to Precht and the question: “Who am I…?” Precht is considered an intellectual and thus belongs to a species in which the Putin-understander virus seems to be particularly contagious.
Which leads to the question: What does “intellectual” actually mean? Does that also mean “intelligent” per se? That would be close. Or does it mean that intellectuals generally consider themselves intelligent? That’s getting closer.
The solution may be: It is the belief that one is superior to factual knowledge through one’s perceived superior intelligence. That too probably connects Precht and Musk.
