new York The inflation rate in the USA is currently five percent and in Germany it is 7.4 percent. At the same time, fears of a recession are increasing. Economist and happiness researcher Justin Wolfers from the University of Michigan is optimistic: the booming job market makes people happy with a job. For the USA he says: “Measured by the indicators, we have never had it better than today.”

Inflation in the US, including core inflation, is also falling. A recession is by no means certain. First-quarter gross domestic product growth figures, to be released this Thursday, showed that the economy was “really picking up momentum.”
