The euphoria around Werder is huge!
Bremen have already collected 15 points after nine match days and are in 5th place. The best start in four years under the then coach Florian Kohfeldt with 17 points. After this 2-1 success in Hoffenheim, Werder even spent the night in a Champions League spot – the fans chanted “European Pocaaaaaal”.

Professional boss Clemens Fritz doesn’t want to know anything about it. In order for things to continue like this, he warns against sloppiness and above all makes the experienced players responsible.
Fritz: “We’re on the rise, we assess the situation correctly and we won’t get euphoric. We have a lot of experienced guys with us. If a player thinks the season will be a sure-fire success, the players on the team council intervene.”

The latter consciously put the brakes on the euphoria after the victory in Sinsheim. Bittencourt clearly: “We know how to classify that. Placement isn’t that important at the beginning. The faster we collect more points, the faster we can reach our goal.”
