of honor Could you give information about its activities in Turkey? What are their future goals?
For HONOR, Turkey is a market with great opportunities. We have been operating in the Turkish market since 2018. Turkey’s tech-savvy young population is exciting. It’s mostly made up of people under the age of 30 who are eager to experience new technology. We are committed to diversifying the product range to launch products that make users’ lives easier in 2022; We plan to bring more products to market this year, including smartphones and other ecosystem products.
The potential of Turkey to become the logistics center of trade in three continents is really important. The developments in the global trade agreements between the USA and China offer an important potential in terms of shaping new trade routes, and Turkey is one of them. For all these reasons, Turkey has incredible opportunities for us as a market.
Wearable technologies continue to increase the number of users day by day. How do you see the future of wearable technologies in this regard?
HONOR is a company whose R&D team consists of more than half of its employees. These employees are also highly experienced in the field of wearable technologies. Our products, for which we are especially known in Turkey, are in this field.
Our IoT devices such as HONOR Magic Earbuds, MagicWatch 2, Watch GS Pro and HONOR Band 6 were very popular in the Turkish market. We believe that the use of wearable technologies that make life easier will increase with the development of technology and the internalization of the Metaverse concept in the upcoming period.
What do you think about the future of the metaverse concept? Does HONOR have investments in this regard?
In the age of technology, where social media is getting stronger, concepts such as Metaverse will begin to enter our lives quickly. While the desire for self-expression in consumers increases the desire to create more creative content, it also increases the need for technological products full of brand new features.
In the upcoming period, when people will produce new content, we will encounter brand new content created with very different efforts. The rising graphic of social media and new concepts such as Metaverse will increase this productivity as well as cause people to come up with more sharing and content.
Of course, we have products that we have developed with this awareness. In response to this need, HONOR 50 incorporates features that open this door in content creation methods to address this increase in video blog (Vlog) diversity. Allowing users to switch between front and rear cameras while shooting using multiple video shooting modes, HONOR 50 comes with advanced camera features. With the flexibility of capturing videos from multiple perspectives, creators can now document and express their true feelings, experiences and identities in real time and form more meaningful connections with their followers.
We continue to follow this development and new content production methods in the future. For consumers who are style-focused, we recognize that smartphones are one of the best ways to express themselves in some way. For this reason, we can see that HONOR will also focus on studies on these new sharing methods, new concepts and phenomena such as Metaverse, with the value it attaches to R&D management.
Smartphone cameras have come to compete with professional shooting machines. Do you think smartphones can be an alternative to high-cost cameras?
Our age is the age of technology, convenience and mobility. In modern times, people want to do the best with the only machine they have. This is one of the reasons why smartphone cameras have become professional lately. In a process where the power of social media is increasing day by day, the preferences of those who want to express themselves well in this field are phones that take close-up professional shots.
HONOR has recently returned to the Google ecosystem with the phones it introduced. How did this reflect on the brand’s activities in the global smartphone market?
HONOR has achieved great success in many international markets such as Russia, Finland, France, Czech Republic in the last year. After becoming an independent company, HONOR continues its operations in more than 50 countries in Europe, the Middle East and Africa, Asia Pacific and the Americas.
It is now possible to play AAA games on smartphones. What do you think about the future of the gaming industry?
The mobile game industry will grow even more in the coming years. With this growth, we will come across more different and high-budget productions. The range of mobile games, which was only released in the hyper casual genre in the first place, has expanded much more. Graphics settings are now included in mobile games, and different graphic adjustments can be made according to the models that users have.
We see tournaments where huge prizes are distributed for the competitive ones of these games. Considering the rapid rise of mobile e-sports and the fact that everyone can access these products more easily, we can say that we will encounter a sector that continues to rise.
