Lenovo’s MacBook Air rival Yoga Slim 7x features
Yoga Slim 7x attracts attention with its 14-inch 3K 90Hz OLED screen and elegant aluminum case. The screen covers one hundred percent DCI-P3 color gamut and offers 500 nits of brightness. At the top of the screen is Lenovo’s signature communications tab. Thanks to this tab, Slim 7x supports IR sensors for FHD webcam and Windows Hello. It also has four microphones but is still kept thin enough.
Weighing just 1.28kg, the Slim 7x is only slightly heavier than the 13-inch MacBook Air and half a pound lighter than the 15-inch model. However, at 1.3cm thick, it’s not as thin as Apple’s rivals. Although it has the power efficiency of the Snapdragon X Elite chip, unlike the MacBook Air, the Slim 7x has dedicated fans for cooling.
The Lenovo Yoga Slim 7x has three USB-C 4 ports, Wi-Fi 7 and a fairly powerful quad speaker. It is also equipped with a keyboard with 1.5 mm key travel, which is not usually found in such a thin system. This keyboard makes typing very enjoyable. Backing all this up is a large 70Wh battery, which is considerably larger than the 58Wh battery in the ThinkPad T14s.
We don’t yet know much about Snapdragon X Elite’s performance and app compatibility on Windows 11. Additionally, time will tell what impact Microsoft’s new Copilot+ features will have. However, it will be exciting to see what Lenovo does with the next generation of Arm-based processors.
