Watermelon trial in Hagen: 9 years imprisonment for mock execution | Regional

Hagen – The two defendants did not want to be made unrecognizable in BILD, after all, they are innocent. The judges in Hagen saw it differently: Nine years imprisonment for collecting money according to Mafia style!

Ali A. (32) and Dr. Fatih Ö. (42) are said to have blamed an Iranian asylum seeker (42) for a failed fruit deal. It was about a delivery of watermelons, for which they are said to have paid 25,000 euros – but only a fraction of the agreed fruit had arrived.

The argument revolved around these melons

According to the judges, the men from Lünen and Hamm abducted their victim to an unknown workshop on July 21, 2020. There they are said to have mistreated the man who brokered the fruit deal, poured water over him and led him to believe that he was about to be executed!

When the attempt failed, the accused showed the blood-smeared victim to his brothers on video and demanded the money from them. A courier was supposed to pick up $ 10,000 from Tehran.

According to the Hagen Regional Court Chamber, the torture of the fruit broker lasted two hours. The consequences – serious! The presiding judge Christian Oesmann called Hoppe (41): “A cheerful man has become a frightened person.” The judges also awarded 10,000 euros to the abused asylum seeker (broken nose, bruises).

The defendants learned the verdict on Thursday from their lawyers Tobias Noll (43, Menden) and Dr. Arabella Pooth (38, Dortmund). Oesmann called Hoppe: “Had you not preferred to stay away from the hearing, you would have been arrested here today.”

The penalty for attempted, grave robbery blackmail in the act of dangerous bodily harm and attempted coercion was also so high because Ali A. and Dr. Fatih Ö. both were on parole. You are now wanted with an arrest warrant if you are abroad.
