What are the features of the Volvo EX30?
The EX30 has all the parking and safety features we’re used to seeing in other Volvo cars. There is also an updated access to all parking spaces. Battery and motor options
The EX30 offers three different engine options and two different battery types. Thus, it provides the freedom to choose the most suitable battery technology according to the user’s needs. For those who spend most of their time in the city or travel short distances, the single-engine option using LFP batteries provides ease of use. Using lithium iron phosphate chemistry, the LFP standard range battery requires less resources to manufacture and is therefore more cost effective. The model may be a viable option for those who do not need maximum range.
For those who prefer to maximize the range, the EX30 is available in a Single Engine Extended Range variant with an NMC extended range battery. NMC battery technology contains lithium, nickel, manganese and cobalt and produces more energy efficient than the LFP variant. This single-engine extended range option can give you a range of up to 480 km between two charges.
For performance-oriented users, the Twin Engine Performance model is offered, in which the NMC battery is paired with an additional second e-motor. This all-wheel drive version of the EX30 delivers 315kW (428hp) and accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.6 seconds. This version of the EX30 is the highest acceleration model Volvo Cars has ever produced.
The extended-range Twin Engine variant has a charging capacity of up to 153kW, while the standard-range model has a capacity of 134kW. In this way, the EX30’s battery can charge from 10 percent to 80 percent in just over 25 minutes. The amperage, maximum charge level and charge start time can be adjusted via the car’s center display and app.
Carbon footprint and security
By tackling emissions throughout the EX30’s entire production and life cycle, and by carefully selecting the materials used both inside and outside the car, Volvo Cars has managed to reduce the overall carbon footprint from driving over 200,000 km to less than 30 tonnes.
Designed to be as safe as one would expect from a Volvo, the EX30 aims to protect both drivers and pedestrians, thanks to the features offered by “Safe Area Technology”, especially in busy cities.
The new safety system in the Volvo EX30 warns the driver or passengers visually or audibly when a cyclist or pedestrian is about to open the door. The “Door Open” warning safety feature, which helps prevent these accidents known as ‘Door Slams’, is standard on EX30s.
Volvo Cars’ new generation Park Pilot Assist With the EX30, which is the first car with the feature, it offers ease of parking in all kinds of parking spaces and narrow spaces, including parallel, curved, vertical and diagonal awn shapes. The new generation Park Pilot Assist feature determines the existing parking spaces in the surrounding area. While the driver supervises the parking process, the display shows the distance to surrounding objects such as cars, walls and pillars.

The Volvo EX30 has a choice of five different ambient lighting themes. Each of these themes is inspired by a different Scandinavian landscape and subtly changes color, adding a sense of calm to the interior.
Prefer the warm sunlight falling through the leaves of a Scandinavian forest, a sunset on the west coast of Sweden, the world-famous northern lights, the golden sky in midsummer, or the bright air of a city sunset. With these chosen colors in the EX30, each lighting theme can also be matched with an ambient sound scheme.
Cross Country version will also come
Starting next year, a Cross Country version will also be available alongside the EX30. Orders and production for this special version of the small electric SUV are expected to begin in 2024. For those who want a little more adventure, the Volvo EX30 Cross Country will build on the Cross Country legacy of Volvo Cars’ famous model lineup. The EX30 Cross Country will be available with a range of options to suit users’ preferences, such as increased ground clearance, black 19-inch wheels, 18-inch wheels and custom tyres.
