First 6th generation Passat, It was produced in Europe and offered for sale in the US market. Volkswagen, which produced a special version for the USA and China in 2011, exported the USA-made Passat to Canada and the Middle East.
Having lower features than the European market, the US-made Passat was offered for sale with an affordable price policy in order to compete with its competitors. The model, which appeared with some design changes for the 2020 model year, stopped production.
Analysts underline that sedan vehicles are gradually decreasing in the US market. Passat, which has a history of almost 50 years in the US market, reached a high number of sales despite the decrease in interest in sedan vehicles.
The 2022 Passat Limited Edition, which came off the production line in Tennesee in December, went down in history as the last Passat produced by the company. Volkswagen has announced that it will begin production of electric SUVs for the ID.4 on its current production line. The facility will also be converted into an electric vehicle test center for Volkswagen’s North American operations.
