HoloLens 2 is coming to the automobile environment with the partnership of Microsoft and Volkswagen
Microsoft and Volkswagen have been working on a “mobile platform” program since 2018 that would allow the HoloLens 2 to be used on the road. Although HoloLens technology was produced for use in harsh and active environments, it did not work efficiently in automobile driving.
The two major companies have announced a new collaboration plan to bring the augmented reality (AR) headset HoloLens within reach. In a way, HoloLens 2 was designed to mimic the way humans experience the surrounding environment. If the partnership achieves its goal, HoloLens 2 will also be used in traffic.
On the other hand, the HoloLens 3 title, which is expected to be the continuation of the series, has literally turned into a snake story. First, it was stated by important sources that the 3rd version of HoloLens VR headsets, which is under development, has been canceled.
After these rumors, the company made a statement in the past months and stated that the HoloLens 3 work continues without any problems. So much so that, according to some sources, the partnership between Microsoft and Volkswagen will continue in the third version of the series.
