Washington In view of the high inflation, the US administration of President Joe Biden and senior Democrats are considering suspending the federal gasoline tax. This is being discussed, said Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer on Tuesday.
The President’s National Economic Council is reviewing the proposal, an insider told Reuters. When asked, the Office of the President said that no measure was ruled out. Last week, a group of senators led by Mark Kelly proposed suspending the tax until the end of the year. This is “a pretty obvious” move, he said.
