Amid the strikes at the three major US automakers GM, Ford and Chrysler parent company Stellantis, the corporations and the UAW auto union resumed their collective bargaining on Saturday. Stellantis announced that it had increased its salary offer. They are now offering ten percent more money immediately and a total of 21 percent more over the term of four and a half years. However, the offer is still well below the original UAW demand of 40 percent.
