Brussels, Bangkok The West wants to lure India out of its dependence on Russia with generous offers for a close partnership. When EU Commission President Ursula von der Leyen meets Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi tomorrow, Monday, she wants to offer him the establishment of a “Trade and Technology Council”, the Handelsblatt learned from EU Commission circles.

In addition, the EU Commission is committed to European companies supplying India with armaments, also by participating in joint ventures in India.
