After increasing tensions between Russia and Ukraine, the Slovak President Zuzana Caputova approved a military treaty with the United States. As announced by the Ministry of Defense in Bratislava on Monday, department head Jaroslav Nad was commissioned with the formal signing. He will travel to Washington together with Foreign Minister Ivan Korcok to sign the contract on Thursday.
The Agreement allows the US, their military presence by doing EU country directly bordering Ukraine especially because of this to reinforcethat they expand the two military airports Sliac and Kuchyna. Opponents fear a US presence that could be beyond the control of Slovak laws and authorities.
