Two New Earth-Like Planets Discovered

Scientists have discovered two new planets with almost the same mass as Earth. Moreover, there is a possibility that both planets are habitable.

While the search for a habitable planet in the observable universe continues, scientists have made another great discovery. In new research published in the journal Astronomy & Astrophysics able to live two new planets discovery was announced.

Two newly discovered planetsGJ 1002It is located in the system of the red dwarf star ‘. The planets, named ‘GJ 1002 b’ and GJ 1002 c’, have a similar mass to Earth and are within habitable distance from the star, according to scientists.

How were planets discovered?

  • Comparison of two discovered planets and planets in the Solar System.

The two planets are in the ‘Very Large Telescope’ of the European Southern Observatory.ESPRESSO‘ named spectrograph and Calar Alto Observatory’CARMENES‘ was discovered by data from the spectrograph. Data were collected between 2017 and 2021. With the data of a total of 139 spectroscopic observations, the discovery of the two planets was possible.

Planets are not known to have water or life, but all signs are positive:

Scientists have yet to share whether either planet has water or life. However, the data obtained so far green tick all signs shared.

However, planets 16 light years away It was shared that observations can also be made easily (at the scale of the universe) because of this. Therefore, we can expect new information to come from the planets soon.

The total number of exoplanets discovered to date has exceeded 5,000.
