Turns out Bankman-Fried Uses VPN!

US prosecutors bankrupt cryptocurrency exchange FTX found that its founder, Sam Bankman-Fried, was using a VPN.

Prosecutors said that Bankman-Fried was held on Jan. 29 and Feb. 12, respectively, according to documents that emerged late Monday. VPN presented it to the court. Prosecutor Danielle Sassoon made the following statement in the file she submitted to the judge:

“I agree with the defense attorney’s rhetoric, many people use VPNs for bona fide purposes. However, it is worrying that Bankman-Fried, who is facing major charges and against which many precautions are taken, uses VPN.”

Prosecutor Sassoon pointed out that malicious people use VPNs to hide their IP addresses. State officials have asked the court for additional time, until February 17, to review the bail conditions.

What Did Bankman-Fried Do With VPN?

The lawyers of SBF, the founder of the sunken stock market, defended the defendant’s use of a VPN. According to lawyers, Bankman-Fried had to change his network address to watch the Super Bowl, one of the nation’s biggest sporting events, on February 12.
