TURKSTAT Announces July Inflation Figures

The Turkish Statistical Institute announced the highly anticipated inflation figures for July, while the record for decades continues to be broken. Inflation in July was 2.37% monthly.

Turkish Statistical Institute, eagerly awaited July inflation rates announced today. Inflation, which broke the record of the last 20 years in the past months and slowed down in May compared to the previous months, continued to rise in July as well.

According to TUIK data, the month of July monthly consumer inflation 2.37% took place as Annual inflation reached 79.60%. While the domestic producer price index increased by 5.17% on a monthly basis, it increased by 144.61% on an annual basis.

Accordingly, the prices of this group increased by 6.98% in one month. The group that followed health was alcoholic beverages and tobacco, followed by entertainment and culture. In the transportation group, which has been at the top of the list in recent months, A regression was observed for the first time with -0.85%.

On an annual basis, the highest increase was seen in retransport. The transportation group saw a year-on-year increase of 119.11%. The group following transportation was food and non-alcoholic beverages with 94.65% and household goods with 88.35%.
