The Global Firepower list, published regularly every year, lists all the countries with regular armies in the world according to their power ranking determined by fine criteria. TSK increased compared to last year’s list.
Turkish Armed Forces (TSK) was listed as the 8th most powerful military force in the world in the “Global Firepower 2024” list
For 2024, Turkey ranked 8th among 145 countries taken into account in the annual GFP review. Our country’s military strength index score was 0.1697 (0.0000 is considered ‘excellent’).
Turkish Armed Forces ranked 11th in the Global Firepower list published in 2023. With the new list published, we see that we have jumped 3 places.
The list of the 10 most powerful armies in the world is as follows:
- United States (US)
- Russia
- People’s Republic of China
- India
- South Korea
- United Kingdom
- Japan
- Türkiye
- Pakistan
- Italy
We should also point out that Global Firepower is based in the USA. Even if they are not, if we ask anyone, they are likely to say that the strongest military is the USA.

Tesla officially opened its new showroom store in Ankara. The first images from the store that will provide Model Y test drive have arrived.
Another interesting detail seen in the list is that South Korea left the United Kingdom behind and ranked 5th. Thus, the UK is no longer among the top 5 armies in the world.
