Turkey’s first domestic observation satellite IMECE was to be launched today at 9:30 am with the Falcon 9 rocket of Elon Musk’s space and aviation company SpaceX. However, due to adverse weather conditions, the launch was postponed to the same time tomorrow.

The project, which started in 2017, has achieved significant gains that will form the basis for the next generation satellite platforms in 6 years.

Developed within the scope of the project carried out under the coordination of the Ministry of National Defense and the Presidency of Defense Industry, supported by the Presidency Strategy and Budget Presidency (SBB) and TUBITAK 1007 program, the IMECE Satellite will be included in the inventory of the Air Force Command after its orbital tests are completed.
