Berlin Good news for the traffic light coalition members of the SPD, Greens and FDP: The state can count on substantial additional tax revenues in the next few years. Due to the expected strong economic upswing, the federal, state and local governments are likely to have around 160 billion euros more in taxpayers’ money available between 2021 and 2025 than previously planned. According to information from government circles, this is in the submission of the Federal Ministry of Finance for the tax estimate, the results of which will be published this week.

According to this, the state as a whole will receive 29 billion euros more this year and 33 billion euros next year than was calculated in the last tax estimate in May. The federal government will account for six to eight billion of this in 2021; in the next few years it will be a little more than ten billion euros more per year.
